The breakfast burrito Dear lord, their breakfast burrito is so good. It has potatoes, a lovely cheese sauce, pico, egg, and I chose bacon. It was filling but not too much. I am a huge fan and am considering stalking the chef to get the recipes for the burrito and both salsas.

Smoked & Fried Chicken

So SO delicious. Such an amazing take on a classic. I wish I could replicate this at home! One of my all time favorite dishes, I could order two for myself.

Gnocchi Nero

Everything is good at Baran's, but I particularly like the Gnocchi Nero. I don't usually love gnocchi, but this gnocchi is light and fluffy and the squid ink gives it a unique flavor profile that is delicious!

Tomato & Cucumber

I first ate at Baran's on the high reco from a co-worker who also lives in the South Bay -- I needed a place to take my foodie parents visiting from NY. Two other former East Coast friends joined us for dinner and we all were blown away by the dishes and the tastes. Since then, I've brought my foodie cousins visiting from Boston, who were equally impressed, and had a birthday dinner there with local friends plus a visiting friend who is notoriously picky and even she loved the food. I'm a former NYer who has foodie parents, so my palate is discerning -- Baran's food has been the best I've tasted in California and NY! And by tasted, I mean just that. It's the care that goes into combining the ingredients that results in the most nuanced and delightful tastes and flavors. Nothing is overdone or overwrought -- it's just finely balanced and flavors that complement and surprise. I love the smaller plates so you have the option to try more of the menu. And it goes without saying that the seasonal and sustainable menu checks the right boxes as well. Also, who know that gooseberries existed? I didn't until a delicious dessert at Baran's that was perfect in lightness, sweetness and tartness. Baran's is my favorite restaurant in LA and I will recommend it to everyone!

2lb Dry-Aged Bone In Rib Eye

What a beast of a dish. So fantastic. So tender, so flavorful. My favorite cut, the best steak in the South Bay for sure.

This bread is well worth the carbs. Served with an infused butter it is a heavenly accompaniment to any salad and especially the smokey fried chicken

Indian Egg

Ive never had a scotch egg before but im so glad i tried this version! Perfect blend of spices coat this "egg" for a delicious bite every time! And a huge portion size too! Excellent to share. I recently just tried their 5 course Indian dinner as well and every course was delicious! I really hope this restaurant survives the covid lockdowns because it is hands down the best restaurant in the south bay. I used to have to drive to LA and Hollywood for this quality of flavors and meals but i am so glad I found Barans. Ive heard great things about their breakfast burritos and that is next on my list of items to try!
